In the world of today, stress, constant stimulation, worry, anxiety, uncertainty and fear are overwhelmingly present to distract us from our real selves.
Few of us manage to live an idyllic life that is rewarding and satisfies our deepest needs. It is not possible for most people to change the world so that stress, illness, or emotional challenges never occur. Some of us may use unhealthy means or bad habits to find relaxation and relief from anxiety. In doing so we may temporarily numb our feelings but increase our unhappiness. Is it inevitable to suffer from what we cannot control? Most certainly it is possible to learn healthy, relaxing, ways of being.
Within each of us is a place of stillness and peace. Traditionally this had been referred to in the East as Dhyana and in the West as meditation, or simply learning to develop our capacity for Awareness. As we learn to recognize this stillpoint within, we are freed to once again deeply enjoy life .
